Super Mario Bros. 3 is a video game developed and published by Nintendo on the NES/Famicom in 1988. The game's composer is Koji Kondo. The game also received an enhanced remake, titled Super Mario All-Stars, on the Super Nintendo in 1993 and an enhanced port, titled Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros 3, on the Game Boy Advance in 2003.
Overview
As the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 ("The Lost Levels") was more of an expansion pack of the first game and the international version a reskin of Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic, Super Mario Bros. 3 can be considered the first true sequel to the original Super Mario Bros.. It introduced many classic elements to the series like the world map, the Koopalings, slopes, and flight power-ups. It got a sequel on the SNES titled Super Mario World, and a spiritual sequel in the form of the Nintendo 3DS game Super Mario 3D Land.
The plot of the game is very basic, as is usual for early Mario games. Bowser and his minions the Koopalings stole the magic scepters of several kings and transformed them into animals. It is up to Mario and Luigi to retrieve them and return the kings to their original forms. According to the game's creator Shigeru Miyamoto, the game is actually a staged performance of the events.
Still composed by Koji Kondo, the soundtrack is bigger and arguably better than the first game; being composed near the end of the Famicom's life cycle, it uses the five audio channels more efficiently to create more diverse and situational tracks. Music also has a minor importance in the game in the form of the magic flutes (borrowed from the original The Legend of Zelda), a secret item leading to the Warp Zone. Still related to Zelda, this game also marks the first appearance (though in a prototypal state) of what would eventually become "Fairy's Fountain" in the music of "Water Land".

Trivia
- The original thumbnail for this game matches another video game music channel, BrawlBRSTMs3 X, like with many other old thumbnails. Starting with "Grass Land (Alpha Mix)", the thumbnail were changed to the game's logo over a yellow background, mimicking the thumbnail used on GilvaSunner's uploads. The thumbnail is in higher quality compared to GilvaSunner's.
- The BrawlBRSTMs3 X thumbnail briefly reappeared in "Super Mario All Stars SMB3 World 6 Map (OST Version)".
- Most of the track names were changed mid-June 2017 to mirror the names used by the real GilvaSunner. For examples, "Grass Land" was previously called "World 1 Map", "Desert Land" was called "World 2 Map", etc.
