Jokes
This is an arrangement of "WELCOME TO THE CITY" from Deltarune in the style and instruments of the advertised track. At 0:05, the instrumental of "Yankin" is briefly added until 0:12, before being replaced with the vocals of "Mo Bamba" by Sheck Wes, which are partially pitch-shifted to "WELCOME TO THE CITY"'s melody.
The rip loops at 1:45, then again at 3:30 shortly before fading out.
The inclusion of "Yankin" might be a reference to the rip "WELCOME TO THE CITY (Alternate Route) - Deltarune".
History
This rip was set as the featured video for returning subscribers during April Fools' Day 2024. It was also retitled to "WELCOME TO THE CITY but it's in the Super Mario 64 soundfont",[1] playing into the event. It was changed back after the event ended.
Trivia
- The rip was released a few days after a rip formerly titled "Slider (Nintendo Switch Online Version) - Super Mario 64", which also had a Deltarune Chapter 2 joke and referenced Nintendo Switch Online with the mix name.
- An "instrumental version" of this rip is included as a hidden track in the album SiIvaGunner's Highest Quality Rips: Volume FF.
