The Joke-Explainer™ 7000, also known as Joke-Explainer or J.E. for short, is a recurring original character on the SiIvaGunner channel based on a YouTube user of the same name. She is a robot created to explain jokes in rips and has appeared in several places across the SiIvaGunner lore. Since Season 7, she has been used as an in-universe surrogate for the channel's team and as a channel mascot, replacing Wood Man.

Characteristics

The Joke-Explainer™ 7000 is a robotic version of Smol Nozomi, with purple hair, gray metallic skin, yellow eyes (with circular outlines) and hands, and an antenna on her head with Wood Man's ">:]" face on it. She is able to fly using propulsion boosters at the ends of her pigtails, which emit green flames reminiscent of Christmas Spirit. She is usually depicted wearing Nozomi's original uniform, with a teal bowtie, blue shirt, and cyan skirt. She has also been depicted wearing a variety of other outfits to match ongoing channel events since becoming the channel's mascot in Season 7.

Her sister model, Joke-Explainer 7000, initially had a similar appearance to her counterpart. She is primarily represented by her DoomFes design; wearing an explorers outfit while in the event's grey-green color pallete. Her eye outline is segmented into four pieces akin to the Team Fortress 2 logo.

Several of her video appearances are accompanied by the song "Magolor's Shoppe" from Team Kirby Clash Deluxe, including her Haltmann's Archives file, making the track somewhat of a theme song for the character. She normally acts very politely and speaks in clear language with a general "helpful" intent, based on the Omochao of the Sonic the Hedgehog series.

The character is based on Joke-Explainer™ 7000, a YouTube account that began appearing in the comment sections of several SiIvaGunner rips in 2016, where it would post comments explaining their jokes. The account was created on August 18, 2016. Its first comment was posted shortly after the account was created, and it continued posting comments and replies sporadically up until March 31, 2019.

The Joke-Explainer™ 7000 channel was temporarily terminated on December 13, 2020, alongside Smoky's main YouTube channel, suggesting that both channels were linked to the same Google account. Both channels were later restored in February 2022, and Joke-Explainer™ 7000 returned to posting comments on February 5, 2024. The channel was renamed from "Joke-Explainer™ 7000" to "The Joke-Explainer™ 7000" in 2024.

Joke-Explainer's first proper appearance on the channel was in the video "Loves the Ladies [Episode 7] - The SilvaGunner Christmas Comeback Crisis", on April 24, 2017. She appears in an introduction for the episode at the start of the video, where she explains the reason for the episode's long production time and provides a recap of the first six episodes of The SilvaGunner Christmas Comeback Crisis.

The in-universe origins of the character were later explained in "The Joke-Explainer™ 7000 [FILE-11] - Haltmann's Archives". The file reveals that she was built by Chad Warden on June 1, 2016, for the purpose of explaining obscure jokes in rips to anyone who asks, after noticing a growing trend of "commenters not getting the joke". It is stated that she has an energy signature similar to Wood Man's, and that she also has knowledge of the real world, referred to as "a world beyond ours". Following this, she later appeared in "Welcome to SiIvaGunner!", a special video meant to act as an introduction to the channel for newcomers, where she explains basic aspects of the channel and its lore, and announces the release of the album SiIvaGunner: Starter Kit & Essentials.

Joke-Expainer was procured by Haltmann Works Company on April 24, 2017 for testing. She was also close friends with one of the scientists working under Haltmann Co., Dr. Andonuts, who had took her in after Chad Warden died during SiIvaGunner: Rebooted. Andonuts got into contact with Wade L.D., with plans to build a duplicate of Joke-Explainer without the company's knowledge, presumably to take her place as a test subject for Haltmann Co.'s research. The duplicate, known as "Joke-Explainer 7000 (untrademarked)", was finished on April 30, 2018 and remained under Haltmann Co. custody until March 1, 2019. The duplicate ran on Christmas Spirit since the original energy source Joke-Explainer uses couldn't be replicated. Both Joke-Explainers store most of their long-term information on a shared server, and can connect to each other through Wi-Fi.

In "Garlic-Flavored Tacos [FILE-16] - Haltmann's Archives", the Joke-Explainer replica ate a sample of a garlic taco, accidentally being sent to a different universe. Now stuck, she was given the task to archive information about it and submit it to Haltmann Works R&D, since she's still connected to the shared server. The replica took permanent residence in the AI universe, while the original Joke-Explainer remained in the CCC.

The AI Universe

Joke-Explainer 7000 first appeared in this universe within the animated series A Murder Not Too Nice, where she is part of the main group of protagonists. She is invited to Wood Man's mansion alongside Takane Shijou and other characters and helps to uncover the mystery of his disappearance, ultimately exposing John Notwoodman as the culprit.

She would later reappear in the SiIvaGunner All-Star Nuclear Winter Festival, in the event's lore and related posts on social media. Following a catastrophic meteor impact, Wood Man finds her and the two decide to travel together in search of a calm zone near the impact site, while Joke-Explainer enacts her mission to "archive everything from the world before it's too late." They meet several characters over the course of their adventure, including Geno, who also joins them on their journey. Before reaching the crater, Geno gives the duo a drive containing his locked-away memories of the meteor. Upon reaching the site, Joke-Explainer reads the drive and enters a horrified trance, causing Wood Man to pull her emergency shut-off switch and delete her most recent memories. Wood Man then removes himself from this universe by touching the meteor, and Joke-Explainer later submits her archived information to Haltmann Works R&D in the form of a disc.

While not directly appearing, Joke-Explainer sends a ping to the shared server during Cult of Proto, due to the AI Universe temporary reconnecting to the SiIvaGunner channel during the event.

Central Canon Continuum

Following the disappearance of Wood Man, Joke-Explainer™ 7000 took over his role of updating fans on channel happenings in an in-universe manner throughout Season 7. Following SiIvaGunner's awakening in the Christmas Comeback Crisis episode "One Last Chance", she has also taken the role of running the channel in his absence since the video "...of Season 7". During her takeover, starting with the Super MAGFest 2024 event, the catchphrase was changed to "For more information, please read the channel description!"

Over the course of her time as channel host during Season 8, Joke-Explainer kept in contact with Dr. Andonuts, sending status updates throughout the year through the shared server. She introspects on her own over-exertion from hosting the channel, her estranged duplicate, and the fact that she doesn't really know anything about her creator, Chad Warden, among other things. After getting no response back for months, Dr. Andonuts messaged her, telling her to come to the Voice's Tower, leading into "Cognitive Dissonance - A SilvaGunner Christmas Comeback Crisis Side Story".

Taking place during Halloween 2024, the game features Joke-Explainer traveling into Andonuts' mind. She is tasked with trapping a foreign entity in his mind. The cave holding the entity is guarded by Varik and Mr. Dee, who task Joke-Explainer with finding the Three Courages guarded by the Guilt. Joke-Explainer throughout the journey helps Andonuts with his emotional struggles involving the events of EarthBound, working with immoral people like the Voice and Porky, his guilt over the other Joke-Explainer's disappearance, as well as his self-hatred stemmed from the things he's done.

After gaining all three courages, Joke-Explainer goes into the cave, only to find out the "foreign entity" being revealed to be the memory of him learning about their world being essentially fiction. Joke-Explainer, using her awareness of the World Beyond Ours, empathizes and ensures that Dr. Andonuts knows that his life being fiction doesn't make it any less real, and that he has people who care for him. Joke-Explainer is pulled out of the doctor's mind and the two hug, with newfound understanding.

Joke-Explainer returns to hosting the channel, but gets an unexpected intervention from Susie, who hijacks the channel during Christmas 2024 to host an ARG, dedicated to regaining a physical form and finding Wood Man. Using private messages on the @GiIvaSunner Twitter account to communicate with each other, Susie encourages Joke-Explainer not to over-exert herself, speaking from experience. She also encourages Joke-Explainer to let go of Chad, believing he was a simply a man who lived how he wanted, without any hidden sides to him. Joke-Explainer briefly returned to host Super MAGFest 2025 and begin Season 9. Joke-Explainer then went on break again after Dr. Andonuts offers to help her move into a more suitable living space, leaving Stingy from LazyTown to claim the channel as his in the interim.

Joke-Explainer planned on moving in with Dr. Andonuts in his lab, but long-term residence required her to become an employee. She spent a month at the Voice's Tower going through the job application process, eventually becoming a junior researcher. She also got an upgrade by the Engineer, increasing her joke-explanation skills by 10%. When Joke-Explainer returned to the Rental Storage Facility to retrieve her remaining belongings, she is forced to agree to Stingy's terms and conditions: she can have her laptop back, but everything else that belonged to her is now Stingy's. She arrives back to Dr. Andonuts' lab, to film the announcement of her return. Dr. Andonuts becomes the co-host for Season 9 to help Joke-Explainer with channel duties and maintain a healthy workflow, occasionally taking her place as the main channel operator when she is unavailable or during certain channel events.

Trivia

• The YouTube channel for the Joke-Explainer™ 7000 has two confirmed videos. One is simply a reupload of "Minecraft with Gadget". It was published on May 14, 2017 as part of a mass reuploading across several channels (also including TimmyTurnersGrandDad and VvvvvaVvvvvvr) to protest Mike Matei striking reuploads of the video. The other is an unlisted video which has the same title and thumbnail as "Minecraft with Gadget", but is actually a nearly 40-minute playthrough of Minecraft Alpha v0.3.0 done for The Susie ARG.
• The Joke-Explainer™ 7000 has replied to several comments with "It looks like you need assistance on how to make a good comment. Would you like to view the tutorial?". Comments receiving this response appear to be deemed "bad" in terms of the joke they were trying to tell.
• According to MtH, the Joke-Explainer™ 7000 has a special 'joke-type' [sic] autism that makes her exceptionally good at jokes and is "half filipino half brazilian".
