"Raft Ride" is a frequently ripped track from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, and a meme on the SiIvaGunner channel.

Overview

"Raft Ride" (sometimes referred to as "Rapids Ride") is a track composed by Kozue Ishikawa for The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. The track was originally used for the Rapids Ride area in the game.

One of the track's distinguishing features is its use of high notes. As a result, most rips of this track will incorporate them into whatever melody is being used.

The track would later be reused in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX, and an arrangement of the track was included in the game's Nintendo Switch remake in 2019.

There are currently 14 rips of "Raft Ride" on the SiIvaGunner channel, including one rip from the fake game Maroon GO. It has also been featured as a joke in a handful of rips, typically via melody changes/ or arrangements. With the release of the 143rd "Raft Ride" rip, "Raft Ride (teszelda.com) - The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening", "Raft Ride" has surpassed "Slider" to become the most-ripped track on the channel (or second-most if "Circus" is counted).

On April 24, 2023, the audio of "Raft Ride - The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening", the first SiIvaGunner rip of "Raft Ride", was shared by minindo in the official VvvvvaVvvvvvr Discord fan server as a response to treydog1357, who had stated, apropos of nothing, that "Raft Ride" was the "new ripper song".

On the night of May 17, the SiIvaGunner channel began Raft Ride Day, during which the first 10 rips of the track were uploaded, as well as two featuring it as the joke. After the event, rips of "Raft Ride" or featuring the track continued to be uploaded almost every day throughout May 2023, alongside the channel's regular uploads and other events.

On May 19, 2023, The High Quality Emailing Guide was edited to mention the track, with it being placed on the list of frequently-ripped tracks that do not demand higher standards. This makes "Raft Ride" the fourth track on the list, following "Slider", "Circus", and "Wood Man Stage", and the first one added after the document's initial release. However, "Raft Ride" was not added to the list of tracks that are exempt from using believable mix names, which is otherwise identical.

On June 6, 2023, the thirtieth anniversary of Link's Awakening was celebrated on the channel, with some rips featuring "Raft Ride".

On August 29, 2023, during "SiIva Direct 8.29.2023", it was announced that rips of "Raft Ride" were banned "due to recent events". Despite this, rips of "Raft Ride" were still uploaded after the announcement, and The High Quality Emailing Guide was not updated to reflect the supposed banning.
